TPB News is an online television news service, produced for TPB1 for the English language broadcasts.

The network's flagship half-hour long broadcast airs at 10pm ET every evening (varies for each region's timezone) in cities around Canada, the U.S., and the UK, covering local, national and world news, including sport and weather; these broadcasts are presented from studio around the U.S. Canada, and the UK. The weekday afternoon editions were originally 5 minute updates posted for each region on the TiBB News website, but later became its own broadcast.

TPB News used to produced special editions of the TiBB Podcast, which got recorded live on YouTube through Google Hangouts.

History[]

In 2014, TiBB1 introduced its news service just two years after the network was launched. It had no bulletin, but however had sporadic coverage of major news stories like the Suicide of Charlotte Dawson in February 2014, and the Franklin Regional High School stabbings two months later in April 2014.[1][2]

In February 2016, the service changed its name for the first time to "TiBB News". TiBB Networks also had announced that the news service would indeed start doing weekly news bulletins every Friday evening and daily news updates from TiBB News' main studio in Pittsburgh.[3] On the 14th and 19th of February 2016, the weekly broadcasts had begun; with the first two editions being broadcast in the same week.

In January 2017, in preparation for a relaunch of the flagship broadcast; the midday and weekend broadcasts were cancelled; and the re-scheduling of times for the flagship bulletin and the regional bulletins and updates.

TiBB News Graphics 2017 Example

At the end of May 2017, TiBB News was given a new look based off of the current look of ABC News in Australia. All broadcasts were put under the umbrella name of TiBB News in opens and closes, whilst retaining separate programme names and regional identities in the studios' big screen and in on-screen graphics. In the example from TiBB News Pittsburgh (see right), you can see what the in-studio graphics look like.

In the May 2018 refresh (which was later moved forward to 20 January 2018), this would be further modified with a slight graphical change; as all programme names, regional identities, and city names would be seen in the titles and on screen graphics.

This change would be later reverted for most broadcasts in October 2020 with a standardised graphics package and music.

In January 2021, with the rebrand of TPBOi and the TPB channels; TiBB News rebranded as TPB News. A new standardised graphics and music package were introduced.

In November 2022, with the introduction of new graphics, TPB News rebranded with the new logo of TPB.
